Bar Natasha to return under new owners, new name
By Joyce Smith

The Kansas City Star The Crossroads' Bar Natasha cabaret lounge will reopen with a new owner and new name. Chad Waldrop — who has been in the club business here and Miami for 14 years — has bought the business as a starring venue for Flo, Kansas City's famed drag queen. The new Flo's Cabaret is scheduled to open in early April. "It will have more of a theater atmosphere, a dinner show on the weekends," Waldrop said. Flo will appear Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, while still making Sunday gigs at Tootsie's, 1818 Main St., which Waldrop also manages. Waldrop plans other shows Tuesdays and Thursdays, along with Happy Hour offerings. The space at 1911 Main St. also will be available for private events. Bar Natasha closed in September after five years. Former co-owner J.D. Mann is looking for the "next great idea." For now he jokes: "I'm going to Disneyland."
