In the January issue of KC Small Business, Diane Botwin was featured in an article entitled "Getting Back to Business." The article features a variety of business leaders discussing their forecasts on the future of healthcare, commercial real estate, social media, environment, life sciences, and technology.
Botwin is quoted in the commercial real estate section of the article about how she believes doing business locally will spur growth within our community, in particular, the real estate industry.
From the article:
"Diane Botwin, general partner of Botwin Family Partners, LP, sees a trend toward businesses wanting local partners, in everything from their bank to their landlord."
"A personal connection with local businesses allows for easy negotiation between business owners and inspires a high level of confidence overall," she said. Plus, small businesses are anxious to help other small businesses. Using local commercial real estate companies helps keep wealth generated by those businesses in the local economy, which helps other small businesses to grow, she said.
"In focusing on the local economy, we are creating a community of small businesses who, by developing creatively and working cohesively, will be able to take more risk in 2010," Botwin said. |
