Diane founded Botwin Commercial Development in 1986 with her parents as a property management company. Thirty-six years later, it has expanded its services to include development and leasing and still operates as a family business. Diane’s focus is to provide neighborhood-sensitive commercial development. She enjoys working with small businesses and entrepreneurs, mentoring them and providing additional resources whenever possible.

In the community, Diane is a strong supporter of the arts, affordable housing, and immigration. She helped to found reStart, and she regularly volunteers—teaching citizenship classes, and educating groups as a docent at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. Diane has served on many non-profit boards including reStart, The Arts Council of Johnson County, Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City, Pembroke Hill School, Jewish Vocational Service of Kansas City, RHS Supportive Housing, Crossroads Community Association and Synergy Services Committees.

Diane holds a BFA in music from Newcomb College at Tulane University and a law degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law.
